Anti-communication

The trend in instant messaging, texting, emails allow us to alienate and insulate ourselves from others, and put up barriers to real communication.  At the same time we push ourselves into chat rooms and social networking sites, we invite closeness without being close. The barrier encourages bullies, allows them to be hurtful anonymously. And without face-to-face communication, misinterpretation of words can cause inappropriate to vengeful behavior.  And what about blogs?  People rant on about all kinds of things that could come back to bite them down the line.
